About us

My name is Anja Kooistra, owner and hostess of Rolling Hills Farm Guesthouse. I was born and raised in Veenendaal  (the Netherlands) . I am married to my lovely husband Rens who was born in Rhenen , a town near Veenendaal.

For twelve and a half years I worked for an American company in Veenendaal which manufactures meters and controllers for many industries, from oil and gas to medical devices and pharmaceuticals and more.

In the summer of 2000 my husband and I immigrated from the Netherlands to Canada, seeking a better quality of life.

I have many hobbies, including gardening. I started gardening in my early twenties. The first garden that I designed was in my parents’ backyard. After maintaining many more gardens in Holland and then in Canada, I began designing all season planters locally.  After moving into our new house, I built a vegetable garden and every year I process the fruit and veggies to stock our pantry. Other hobbies include: photography, hunting- antiques at actions-, baking, cooking and sports.                                                                                                                                                               

One of my dreams came true in establishing this guesthouse/Bed and Breakfast in the country.  I can help guests experience the simple life at its best along with good old fashion Dutch hospitality. I am passionate in what I do, and operate Rolling Hills Farm with pride and love.
